They are a charter member , but yeah it';s weird as hell, they have never seemed a fit to the high powered offenses,

Most Big 10 teams are Association of American Universities which gets them prestige, huge endowments (think its like $500 milly on avg) and other monies. Plus I don't think Iowa would allow it
