Never believed that "if (insert team) is winning, that's good for CFB." To quote Bane if he was a football fan like all of us, "This great game... it will endure. College football will survive."
I agree

I lot of people have said the same thing about Tennessee the past couple of years. However, if it weren't for UT sucking, a team like South Carolina couldn't emerge as a recent front-runner. THAT is good for college football.

Eventually These other high profile coaches will leave other SEC schools and people will be talking about how it's good for college football when X, Y, or Z are doing well, but it just opens up other spots at the table.

It's all cyclical, and college football is good for college football, so it doesn't matter who is winning or losing, it's always going to be grand.

Early lines for week 3 for you sportsbook peeps:
  • Despite losing QB Casey Paschal (the backup is better) to a broken arm, TCU opened as a 6 point favorite over Texas Tech (it has since dropped to 3)
  • Louisville opened as a 7.5 pt favorite over in-state rival Kentucky. That number has since ballooned to 11.5
  • The suddenly arrogant again Tennessee volunteers are 20 point underdogs headed to Eugene to face the Oregon Ducks.
  • Speaking of baseless arrogance, the Texas Longhorns (despite getting gutted like a fatted calf last night) opened as 3.5 pt favorites over the Ole Miss Rebels, and that number is now at 4.5
  • The defending national champion Alabama Crimson Tide opened as 7 point road favorites over the Texas A&M Aggies. That number is now at 7.5.
  • The Auburn Tigers are a touchdown favorite over the Mississippi St. Bulldogs
  • Arkansas opened as a 19 point favorite over Southern Miss; Number is now at 22
  • The South Carolina Gamecocks opened as 11 pt favorites over Vandy; number is now at 13.5
  • LSU opened as 38 point favorites over Kent. St.
lol wtf are you talking about. three or four posts above this one i was talking about how we're going to get smashed at oregon

TN fans have actually been shockingly humble considering their history >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, miss st, and like the entire conference except for two schools

I'd be livid if these garbage programs were talking stuff...they'll pay one day, TN will not be bad for too much longer

anything under 3 touchdowns ill tkae oregon anytime

tenn is garbage

they have a strong run game and thats it
when oregon is up by 14 and you gotta start passing tunrovers will happen

We don't even have a running game lol

And that young UTK team traveling across country to play in in that stadium?

Antonio-Banderas-computer-you-got-me-yospos-reaction-13677939419.gif

It's true.

QB = we're screwed
RB = we're sub-par
WR = we're inexperienced
OL = we're underwhelming

DL = we're meh
LB = we're slow/thin
DB = we're thin

When Oregon gets rolling there's no chance that we can field enough bodies to remain competitive. Additionally, our QB play has been BAD. Just BAD. Our OL isn't opening holes like everyone thought they would do, which creates for average-at-best RB play.

I'm just praying that no one gets injured so we at least have a shot against Auburn, Mizzou, and Vandy down the road. I still think we can reach 6-7 wins once we make it through the next 6 weeks:
9/14 at #2 Oregon

9/21 at #18 Florida

9/28 South Alabama

10/5 #9 Georgia

10/19 # 13 South Carolina

10/26 at #1 Alabama

Needless to say I'll probably be watching other games at that time.

Although, I made it through the Dooley Era and all of its splendor so this is nothing. I've got an ironclad football soul at this point.

http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsport...ayers-only-meeting-marqise-lee-yes-there-was/

USC coach Lane Kiffin and his star receiver Marqise Lee appear to have a different version of the facts when it comes to whether the Trojans did or did not hold a ‘players-only’ meeting on Sunday.

Following this past Saturday’s 10-7 loss to Washington State at the Coliseum, Lee told reporters that there would be a players’ meeting the next day.

On Sunday, Kiffin said a meeting had not been held and reiterated it to the media again after practice on Tuesday.

But Lee, one of USC’s team captains, said Tuesday that Kiffin was wrong, as these tweets attest:

Marqise Lee said Lane Kiffin incorrect about players only meeting not happening. "Kiffin don't know," Lee said #USC
