Shaq wins....only because he'd be more tested.

Mans went up against prime Ewing, Olajuwon, Mourning, Robinson/Timmy D, Mutombo etc., plus older Vlade, Sabonis and others.

That's not to say that Jokic wouldn't get his....but Jokic hasn't faced as many quality bigs as Shaq did. Shaq would try on defense and probably average something like 35/15 at a minimum in a 7 game series. Jokic has never faced someone that strong with a bag. 2000 Shaq would eat him alive.

Also these arguments always leave out the when these games would be played....is it 2000 or is it 2025?

If it's 2000 then centers didn't play like Jokic plays now...and vice versa....for Shaq in 2025....

Funnily enough, Jokic would matchup well with Shaq because he has the center of mass to hold his own in the post. Ain't no doubt that Shaq would still get his, but Jokic would prefer having to defend actions in the low post (where his defensive strengths are) than running out to the perimeter all the time where he has defensive limitations.

Conversely, on the other side of the floor, Shaq isn't doing anything to stop Jokic either. He'd get PnR'd to death.

He ain't finna score 40 doing that. Shaq is big enough and athletic enough to stop Jokic down low so the fadeaways and back to basket scoring will take a hit. Shaq would definitely average more points and rebounds and shoot higher from the field, probably by a large margin.
