It's funny, I remember when I was a kid my mom used to complain about rap depicting black women as only "bytches and hoes", even remember Nelly going on some panel. Now all we see is white skin and black features and people complain about the lack of black women in music videos.

Some may argue that era was overrated (not me). Early to mid 2000s set the standard. I don’t remember a single Latina in HipHop videos until Diddy upgraded that Bronx hoodrat.

After that, the Kim Kardashian/ Exotic look became the standard (before the fake booty). Crazy to think much has changed.

The 90s had almost exclusively dark/brown skinned women as the love interest. Now it’s rare to see one as the lead and not twerking like lunatics. Smh.
