Son Goku
Great Sage Equalling Heaven
Literally the first one.
Big Booty Judy
Real talk, she's how I discovered the coli all those years ago
Some may argue that era was overrated (not me). Early to mid 2000s set the standard. I don’t remember a single Latina in HipHop videos until Diddy upgraded that Bronx hoodrat.
After that, the Kim Kardashian/ Exotic look became the standard (before the fake booty). Crazy to think much has changed.
The 90s had almost exclusively dark/brown skinned women as the love interest. Now it’s rare to see one as the lead and not twerking like lunatics. Smh.
Puff Daddy - Been Around The World - 1997Q Tip "Vivrant Thing" video is what where the "exotic" look became the standard. Leila Arcieri launched a small career in hollywood off of that video..
That looks like Nicole Wray, an r&b singer. What video is the picture from?
And I still don't know who this is/was...popped up and then vanished.
Actually nevermind it just clicked
Anybody know the name of the dark skinned chick from the Peaches and Cream video? The one that Slim was kissing on.
She was in a bunch of other stuff too.

Vivrant Thing came out in 1999.
Before J.Lo, outside of NYC and Selina, brehs weren’t checking for Latinas like that… at least not publicly. After Diddy and JLo’s non-dancing asses (ironic since they both came up as dancers), you started to see the Hispanic/biracial look become the standard.
R&B artists were still using black women for the most part but HipHop ushered in the start of white washing video vixens. I’d say by the time 50/Kanye started dominating, it became rare to see dark/brown skinned women as the lead.
By 09, the classic video vixen era ended, just like the WWF/WWE attitude era. It just became watered down and white washed. This video:
Pretty much solidified it. My gf at the time was like “I guess they’re not even using black women in R&B videos anymore.” I was like
It was a wrap after that.
