Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Yeah this is in the hood, hood where there's gun shots firing several times a week, people play loud music in cars that can't run, and people sell drugs outside the gas station. They still need a good 5-10 years of gentrification before they consider building anything fancy other there.

Atlanta is a mecca in the sense that black people with money are seen as normal and not treated differently/worse by society.
A lot of black celebrities feel at home in Atlanta because they don't feel like a target for having nice things.
Except this is false because black Celebs are a minority of a minority and black celebs don’t get targeted for having nice things virtually anywhere in the world.

Black celebs are not a reality for the average black person

I’ve been there before. I will say I’ve seen more roaches there than anywhere else in my life. shyt is a cesspool. So many roaches, make you not even want to smoke the weed you just bought. And chilling in the car is a quick way to get first 48’d
Me too, I grew up around the corner on Candler Rd. I didn't like going over there.

“The property manager says there is just no way to make necessary repairs with nearly 200 people currently living on site.”

Why does this sound like cap?

Cause it is. It's a way to get those folks outta those units and price 'em out under da guise of renovations. Like someone else stated, it's a loophole.

My idea is that if a large enough number choose to stay for a few more months of preparation, what could they really do? Physically remove 200 tenants and their furniture? What if they decided to occupy the parking lot? I think this is a test, the owner knows he should pay but is hoping a large number of tenants just leave out of fear. I fukking hate portland but one thing I admire about clark/mult county is how hostile the average person is to abusive landlords and business owners.
In another state that could work but not in Georgia. Georgia is a pro-landlord state so the sheriff would definitely kick all of them out if they end up getting evicted.

I grew up in those apartments until I was like 13. I feel bad for those people, but I’m glad those apartments will be over with. The conditions are really bad. And yea a Florida real estate company acquired rights to the property, so it’s definitely gonna be higher priced apartments. Decatur is the hottest spot in the metro right now. Just down the road on Columbia you got luxury apartments going for 500k 600s. Columbia been getting gentrified. See white folks jogging up and down the street every time I ride past there

These while folks who can’t afford downtown Decatur or something? What about Candler Rd? Last time I was back was 2015 and it was still hood, nothing but black people.

Candler road hasn’t been gentrified at all. But Columbia yes. Once you leave downtown Decatur it’s Columbia drive. The popular Decatur area now where everybody buying is Avondale and Columbia . So they been buying up homes and transforming them. Building luxury apartments and shyt. It’s different. Downtown Decatur look completely different from 2015 lol. Long time ago. They ain’t have nothing at all back then. The prices are all the same so it’s not about affordability. shyt is literally just overcrowded. That’s why they not building homes like that no more. Just townhomes and luxury apartments to cram as many people as possible. All the white folks want Decatur so they can be close to the city
