This is such a great fukking work of art, I still play it pretty often even to date. A true masterpiece :whew:

If somebody unfamiliar with the genre were to ask me to reccomend 1 album that personifies the essence of Hip-Hop, I'd play them this :banderas:

We can debate whether or not Mos career was a disappointment or not, but regardless he left us with this. Definitely in my Top 5 albums (of Hip-Hop)

Thank you Mighty Mos :mjcry: :salute:

Mos Def's 'Black On Both Sides' Turns 20

A pretty good article talking about the 20th anniversary of this album. Definitely worth a read.

One of my all time favorites and a top 3 album put out by Rawkus (Mos Def & Kweli's Blackstar and Pharoahe Monch Internal Affairs being the other two) This was a first day cop for me. I remember anticipating the release date. I still remember seeing The Source promo ads saying "Black on Both Sides Coming Soon" and waiting for this shyt to drop. I know he goes by Yasin Bey but he'll always be Mos Def to me just on the strength of this album.
