its funny that none of these guys held the belt because of the backstage politics Hogan played in the 80's-early 90's,

Nah I just think the 80s was a different era. People were holdin' the belt for years at a time... i.e. Backlund before him (5 years), and Sammartino (7 YEARS!) . I mean I'm sure Hogan had pull, but in those times I can see why he didn't have to drop the belt. Also, heels didn't get to run with it like that anyway. Billy Graham had it for a year in the 70s but that was BY FAR the longest heel run... all the other heels just had it for a few weeks, for transitional reasons. It wasn't until Yokozuna that they let a heel hold on to it for over two months. So even if Piper, DiBiase, etc. did get to hold it, it prob. woulda been back on Hogan or whatever other face Vince wanted to have it in no time.

they should've let piper hold the wcw title when he beat hogan at starrcade. He probably would've dropped it back to hogan the next night on nitro like when savage won his last wcw title

That's the WCW International Title, I don't think that was a world title but basically either a bigger version of the U.S Title or another secondary title

Pretty much but it was called a world title and that's why he's not on the list. :manny: It was a cheap and pointless title.

Basically like the two World titles of today. Around 1991, somehow Lex Luger ended up with the new WCW title belt and Flair took the big gold belt to WWF to create his "Real World Champion" angle to offset Hogan. Heenan put that over big and Flair was on his way up North...Luger's whole style changed up to a degree during this run and he was wrestling very lazy and methodical. Sting beat him and you know the story from there....Vader..Ron Simmons...etc.

International or World Champion, it's the same damn meaning. Just worded differently. The WWE's "World Title" came from a suitcase in 2002 after Lesnar took the real Undisputed title to Smackdown and they still try to act like Sheamus' title counts. Put it to you like this..you didn't hear the Rock declare his intentions to go after the "World title" after WM 28, did you? Yeah right...

Where's Rude Perfect and Owen Hart at? Did they not want to include dead wrestlers or something. That's ur top 3 right there. Is Bulldog on the list. Never really saw him as a world champ type but he definitely deserves a mention before some of these other guys.

The WCW International title came from when WCW became re-associated with the NWA in the early-90s. They incorporated the NWA World Tag Titles and World Title into WCW programming... had tournaments including international stars (which of course didn't matter, because it was gonna come down to WCW stars in the end) and everything. But once NWA and WCW parted ways, the belt that was being acknowledged as the NWA title got renamed as the WCW International title.

That Big Gold Belt might be the greatest looking belt of all time... but it's been through some hell.
