The same thing that happened to Regal happened to them too. The difference was Orton and Hardy were both MUCH younger than Regal, sold way more merchandise, and were viewed as cornerstones of the company. They served their punishments then eventually got to where they were supposed to be. Regal was already in the twilight of his career when they decided to give him a push so that was obviously his last shot and he blew it.
