Number 8 is pretty interesting. At that point I'm sure Snoop felt like he had to get off the Row, that incident makes him look like a rappity rapping ass peon. Smh at well known Crips getting murked in retaliation for Snoop throwing up his gang signs during his show at Suge's party. Everyone knows that's part of his act.
:snoop:

Probably went to Suge later about the whole incident and Suge gave him the

1) Most of this is detailed more thoroughly (and more ACCURATELY) in the book "Have Gun, Will Travel: The Spectacular Rise and Violent Fall of Death Row Records" which, to me, is STILL the best "hip-hop book" ever written:

Have Gun Will Travel: Ronin Ro: 9780385491358: Amazon.com: Books

Ronin Ro, a former staff writer for The Source, wrote the book. He actually hung with them alot after he wrote that Source cover story where Dre has the gun to his own head.

2) For instance, in the book I just referenced, this right here:

According to police reports and author David Sullivan, the violence was triggered when Snoop Dogg flashed gang signs when performing on stage.

.....isn't what started it. According to the book, it started when Jamerson first stepped to Quik OUTSIDE the building and called him a buster and a fake Blood, then stepped to him again inside the party. After the second incident inside, Quik ran and told Suge, and then next thing you know dude got stomped out. According to the book, it had nothing to do with Snoop.

Also:

3)
Didn't they rape Sam Sneed and a bunch of other artist? And I mean literally ass fukk them boys. :birdman:

The book alludes to this, and Sam Sneed, even when pressed about what happened, to this day still refuses to say what happened. All he says is "they put their hands on me and I lost alot of respect for them". But it is widely rumored that he was raped.

Suge had this spot in the Death Row offices called "the back room"...that's where they took people who violated. They even kicked females' asses in there. According to the book, Suge took some fool in there DURING a business meeting with Warner Bros. corporate execs, and one of the corporate execs actually had to open the door and SAVE the guy being beaten inside.

Seriously, y'all should get that book. For crying out loud, it's only 84 cents on Amazon.com right now....

They had a white girl signed to their label? :leon:

She wasn't really gonna drop any material. It was a ploy by Suge to get the DA off his ass....and it worked.

Suge Knight’s original record label was called ‘Funky Enough Records’, in 1989, he signed his first artist, fellow Compton native DJ Quik. In late 1990, Quik introduced Suge Knight to a local rapper that he managed who went by the name of ‘Chocolate’. The relatively unknown rapper quickly complained to Suge that he wrote and produced Vanilla Ice’s huge hit ‘Ice Ice Baby’ but wasn’t getting any royalty, which led to the famous “hanging” incident between Suge Knight and Vanilla Ice.

FIRST of all, "Funky Enough Records" wasn't Suge's label exclusively....it was conceived and owned by Dre, The D.O.C. and Suge all together (named after D.O.C.'s hit record). Then, when Suge (through David Kenner) went to Harry-O to get funding, it was called "Futureshock Records" before finally being called Death Row Records.

Sam Sneed, the man with the ‘master-plan’, was viciously beaten in an office meeting in March of 1996 by the Death Row entourage, led by Knight and Shakur. According to Daz Dillinger, the reason this happened was because Sam Sneed had too many East Coast Rappers and not enough Death Row affiliates in his Lady Heroin music video, which included Kool G Rap. (Sam Sneed speaks about the incident here: DubCnn )

Dubcnn: Is it true that Dr. Dre stepped in and provided some help?

Yeah, Dre came, I called him up one day and he said that he was with it. He helped start the process and then Busta Rhymes came and helped and a lot of people from over seas were sending checks, it was a beautiful thing.

:mjpls: You wrote the book? lol...

Totally off topic but on the State Property Part 2 album, on that song GAME Lil Cease spits the line:

I'll pop ya, 'cause I'm high than paranoid
Sometimes I feel like my nikkas is hammer boys
Beat ya to a pulp, like Suge did Danny Boy

That is some disloyal shyt right? Why are you cosigning the gangster of the dude that probably murdered your big homey and giving him props :mindblown:...
