I feel like the 20K reason is bullshyt and these guys either did it cause they were planted by china or out of some feeling of loyalty to the China.

Where's the espionage and spy flicks about the US and China tensions. They have stolen military tech and have had agents planted like sleeper cells all over tech labs, medical field and now military. I think because US and China has so many business interests together they just kind of put their cold war out of view as much as possible. When US vs Russia was going down they didn't have nearly as much business interests alone. Hollywood must also be a little shook of losing those Chinese film dollars. But the material is all here out in the open
Also, they know that type of anti chinese narrative will help the chinese power. The US wants to seduce a part of the chinese elite, not to scare them away.

Got mine in like 3 months. Secret clearances are useless for high level info but in my case had access to everything about the bird I worked on. Sometimes that's enough as in this case.
