Varvas has a decent jab and is bigger than Mikey but he's pillow fisted. Something tells me unlike the Spence fight Mikey may actually press the issue and keep this one on the inside. At range even though the reach advantage isn't that large the height advantage makes that an uphill climb for Mikey if it stays there. I see a decision for Mikey though cause he is the better boxer.

Weights: Mikey Garcia 145.5-Pounds, Jessie Vargas 147-Pounds
By Keith Idec

Published On Fri Feb 28, 2020, 05:21 PM EST

FRISCO, Texas – Mikey Garcia came in a pound-and-a-half below the limit for his welterweight fight against Jessie Vargas, just as he did for his 147-pound debut last year.

Garcia officially weighed in at 145½ pounds late Friday morning when he stepped on the Texas Combative Sports Program’s scale. Vargas, who’s about four inches taller than Garcia, came in exactly at the welterweight limit of 147 pounds.

They’ll meet Saturday night in a 12-rounder that’ll headline a nine-bout card DAZN will stream live from Ford Center at The Star, the Dallas Cowboys’ training center.

Garcia, 32, will fight for the first time since Errol Spence Jr. (26-0, 21 KOs) thoroughly out-boxed him in their 12-round fight for Spence’s IBF welterweight title last March 16 at AT&T Stadium, where the Cowboys play their home games.

Vargas, 30, will end a 10-month layoff of his own. The former junior welterweight and welterweight champion knocked out Mexican veteran Humberto Soto (69-10-2, 37 KOs) in the sixth round of his last fight, April 26 at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

Handicappers have installed Garcia (39-1, 30 KOs), of Moreno Valley, California, as at least a 4-1 favorite to beat Las Vegas’ Vargas (29-2-2, 11 KOs).

Below are the weights for each of the eight Garcia-Vargas undercard fights:

Kal Yafai (26-0, 15 KOs), Birmingham, England, 114½ pounds vs. Roman Gonzalez (48-2, 40 KOs), Managua, Nicaragua, 114½ pounds, 12 rounds for Yafai’s WBA world super flyweight title.

Julio Cesar Martinez (15-1, 12 KOs, 1 NC), Mexico City, 111¼ pounds vs. Jay Harris (17-0, 9 KOs), Swansea, Wales, 111½ pounds, 12 rounds for the WBC flyweight title.

Joseph Parker (26-2, 20 KOs), South Auckland, New Zealand, 245¼ pounds vs. Shawndell Winters (13-2, 12 KOs), Harvey, Illinois, 208 pounds, 10 rounds, heavyweights.

Israil Madrimov (4-0, 4 KOs), Khiva, Uzbekistan, 153¼ pounds vs. Charlie Navarro (29-9, 22 KOs), Maturin, Venezuela, 153¼ pounds, 10 rounds, WBA super welterweight elimination match.

Jesse Rodriguez (10-0, 6 KOs), San Antonio, 111 pounds vs. Marco Sustaita (12-2-1, 10 KOs), Oceanside, California, 110½ pounds, 10 rounds, flyweights.

Diego Pacheco (8-0, 7 KOs), Los Angeles, 167¼ pounds vs. Oscar Riojas (21-12-1, 10 KOs), Monterrey, Mexico, 167¼ pounds, 6 rounds, super middleweights.

Leo Acevedo (6-0, 4 KOs), San Bernardino, California, 153 pounds vs. Dennis Knifechief (12-11-1, 7 KOs), Shawnee, Oklahoma, 154½ pounds, 6 rounds, junior middleweights.

Alexis Espino (5-0, 4 KOs), Las Vegas, 165 pounds vs. Delvecchio Savage (3-5-1, 3 KOs), Tuscaloosa, Alabama, 163½ pounds, 6 rounds, super middleweights.

Once each fighter made weight, Matchroom Boxing USA, the promoter of the event, provided them with a bag that contained a banana, an orange, protein bars and a bottle of Pedialyte so that they could begin the rehydration process properly. DAZN will stream a re-enactment of the official weigh-in from the Tostitos Plaza outside Ford Center at The Star at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT.

Vargas being damn near a 4 to 1 underdog is crazy to me. Unless the oddsmakers believe he's gonna too drained or some shyt. But if he's at his best, this is pretty much a toss up fight to me.
Odds makers probably doing triangle theory, if Vargas can draw with Broner than what can Mikey do to him.

The 36 Chambers
Jessie came in looking ripped. While Mikey is coming in again looking :flabbynsick: like he did before the Spence fight.

Mikey never looks in shape on the scales though :yeshrug:

His diet is absolute fukked :mjlol:

I seen him eat tacos & drink cola when training for Spence :russ:

Garcia will win this but it's going to be much closer on the cards then people think...

115-113 Garcia...
