The Rainmaker
Mr. Money in the Bank
Had to watch the tag title match and OC vs PAC again. Both fun matches for very different reasons. Glad to have some variety in a wrestling show.
Remember when everybody thought AEW signing him was a bad move?
"Everyone i ever loved i pushed them all away"
Is the jericho judas song about his kids?
No, because he sounds regretful in the song.
So we've seen a short-haired disgruntled alcoholic everyman that developed himself in a hardcore company defeat an aging long-haired leader of degenerates that was once considered "too small" at a big PPV for the title...
Looks promising, honestly.
Austin is a year older than Shawn
Tag titles match: Very strong, much better than the Golden Lovers/Bucks melodrama shyt although Matt Buck came pretty close to matching that at times. The whole Hangman/Kenny/Elite angle is basically the same as Cody/MJF but has been executed so much better and with far better matches around it. Whether it is Hangman turning on Kenny, or the reverse with Kenny turning on him and going heel, it's made people give a shyt about Adam Page, which is a whole lot better than just shoving him into a title match despite being the least over and known member of his group. He might have been the most over guy in the match tbh.
OC vs Pac: Fun, but I wonder how many times you can really do the OC can actually wrestle match before it just becomes the normal thing.
Sammy/Darby: Some cool spots and moves, despite pretty haphazard booking when it comes to his momentum on TV, Darby is over like crazy.
Everything else: TRASH
Goldust/Swagger was awful, Swagger surely hasn't worked a match in 3-4 years, right? Why the fukk has he done this silent heavy gimmick for months and finally has a match and is doing all that shyt with his wife? Completely out of nowhere and incongruent with his established personality.
Women's match was awful from the jump, idk of the alien was sick or blew out her knee early on or what, JR fukking hates her that's for sure.
Cody's entrance was horrific, worse than Motorhead doing HHH's theme one of those times where the whole band was out of tune and Lemmy was completely sloshed. The match itself was definitely not what it needed to be based on the 9 fukking months of build behind it. MJF is way too stoogy to take seriously in the role he seems to be put in, and his ring work certainly isn't up to snuff for that level of match on the card either. They used every smoke and mirrors trick you can use besides powder and it was still a plodding bore with a finish that got NO heat whatsoever. People talk about MJF getting REAL HEAT IN 2020 and got worked by planted fans throwing shyt or mistaking a wrestler going after him in an angle as a fan trying to jump him. That crowd didn't give a fukk beyond
Jericho/Moxley was a DISASTER. What the fukk. I hope Mox got a concussion on that post spot or something, otherwise this match was as bad as the Shield reunion with Kurt Angle match. What a fukking boring mess. Mox wearing the eye patch the entire match and then revealing at the finish he didn't need it the whole time is the dumbest shyt. That's something you do in an angle, not in a fukking match'
All the matches with the longest builds were the worst matches, none of them delivered.
