It's the NJPW way - DQs are few and far in between, and there is plenty of leeway and discretion. Coincidentally, that also amps up the competition from a sports view, as it allows the official to decide that a big match won't end on a technicality or bending a rule at the wrong time.

When the wrestlers don't feel as restricted, they can do more, and especially feel more comfortable creating the ad lib moments that make the spectacle all the more entertaining.

Tag enforcement is always supposed to make the ref seem overwhelmed, anyway - they're having to keep up with four athletes/entertainers at the same time. It can also get exhausting, annoying, even tedious when you have a consistent count.

I'm also sure the crowd appreciates a brawl right in front of them, rather than a countout because the official had to do his best Tiger Hattori impression.

That's all a copout answer:comeon::pachaha:. We know it's not real, but at least make it logical. You got the partner watching on the apron while they do 4 double team moves in a row. Why not jump in and just duke it out?

It's good for spots and all, but it's horrible from a storytelling and psychology perspective. Seeing the heels distract the ref to cheat was always the dopest part of tag-team wrestling.

Cornette may be old and cranky, but I have to agree that alot of the basics that made wrestling captivating have been abandoned and now we get endless finshers with 356 kickouts. Don't get me wrong, the tag match last night was good, but that finish was a disappointment with that basic lariat being the finsher.

I didn't realize it until just now, but Orange Cassidy as a character might be the embodiment of what boomers think of millennials/ old heads think of younger wrestlers.

Literally everything he does is a high spot, because he does nothing for the rest of the time. :russ:Dude is Rob Van Dam on Xanax.

I've always felt that wrestling is at its best when they find something in the zeitgeist to play off, but this gimmick is so simple everyone overlooked it. There's a ton of mileage they can get out of this going forward too.

I'm not really feeling Moxley tbh. :yeshrug:

I think they should have put it on Kenny and had main event classics.

I can see why they put it on Mox though. He still probably has a large following from his wwe days. Will be interesting to see if it does anything for ratings.
