The fact of the matter is that Fury just isn’t a great puncher. Yeah Wilder can be stunned but he has good recovery time. The type of fighter that will KO Wilder will be someone who can break him down over a 12 round fight which Fury isn’t. Which is why I think Fury may be the most stylistically difficult opponent, but AJ is the most dangerous.

All that sitting down on his punches talk sounds great in theory but he's been fighting the way he's been fighting for years. You don't just turn that around with a new trainer in a couple of months.

Wallin: If Wilder Opens That Cut and Wins - I Want a Cut of His Purse!
By Boxing Clever

Published On Mon Feb 17, 2020, 03:59 PM EST

Last September, heavyweight contender Otto Wallin was close to pulling off a massive upset when he inflicted two severe cuts above the right eye of Tyson Fury.

The bigger of the two cuts was bleeding badly. There were some tense moments where it appeared the contest might get stopped, which would have made Wallin a TKO winner since the cuts were sustained as a result of a punch.

But the fight was allowed to continue and Fury would win a twelve round unanimous decision.

This coming Saturday, Fury will challenge WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in a highly anticipated rematch at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Wilder has promised to re-open the cut that nearly cause disaster in Fury's last ring appearance.

Wallin broke down the fight. He gives Fury the edge in the contest, but he could also see Wilder getting that cut back open. The first bout ended in a controversial twelve round split draw in December 2018 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

"I think I showed that he has flaws as everybody else," Wallin said to Sky Sports.

"You need the right tools to take advantage of them and you can’t fight Fury as any other fighter you fought before. I don’t think Fury made any new mistakes that he hasn’t done before. I think his problem was me – I’m a good fighter and we had a good game plan going into the fight, and that gave him problems.

"It’s very hard to analyse, especially when you have a big puncher like Wilder in there. I do think, though, that Fury has more tools to work with and that he’ll be able to adapt better for a rematch. I know if Wilder opens up that cut and wins the fight he needs to give me a cut of his purse!"
