This was a masterful performance. Fury was always the supreme boxer, and Wilder has the equaliser with the right hand. Ben Davison spoke about the two ways to defend the right hand prior to this 2nd fight after learning from the first: parrying it from distance so Wilder couldn't throw it, and also ducking underneath and tying him up. Fury did both, the latter he did frequently as the fight progressed, zapping any chance Wilder had of landing.
Wilder usually looks to counter with the right after you commit to a big shot, and I saw him try it in the early rounds.. that split second look Wilder has to find an opening. Fury stepped back, so Wilder hesitated as the distance was off. Then for the other occasions he used those two described methods to disable the right hand. Beyond that, it was just brilliant boxing skills mixed with using the clinch effectively, smothering, picking the right shots and size.
The amazing thing about this victory is Fury spoke it into existence. He said he would do this, everyone said he was crazy... luckily, Tyson is the only person in HW boxing who is pretty damn close to actually being 'crazy' and well, this is why he was the man to do this. Unbelievable performance from Fury.
I don't see Wilder recovering quick enough for the rematch. It will likely be Fury vs Josh if they can sort it soon or another UK fight (Whyte). Let's see...
