it should bother you, i dont think black people, even educated black people, fully grasp how far behind black people are in STEM fields

Good for this girl. I'm an engineering major and its annoying to see black folks continue to tell their sons,daughters,neices,nephews,etc to be the cliche; A doctor, a nurse, a lawyer.
Just straight up jumping on the bandwagon and this is why the STEM field is lacking more black people.
I heard English majors tend to dropout of college because I heard Kanye did..........

But you're forgetting one thing. Those seniors dont have brown belts with 2 stripes in brazillian jiujitsu. They dont even know what to do with their weight or leverage compared to me so in essence them lifting weights is meaningless and useless.

Does that negate the fact that im powerful? Does that negate the fact that i have a brown belt in brazillian jiujitsu and someone like you, despite your strength is like a baby in my grasp? Yea, you need to step into a brazillian jiujitsu dojo and realize how useless strength is in the hands of someone like you. So much potential squandered by a lack of skill and disicpline.

When I was younger I wish I had kept up with math or at least had someone in my ear advising me on what classes to take. No one gave a damn about my education; even my parents besides asking me "you doing good in school"? Adults need pay more attention to the direction their kids are going in academically. See what classes they are signing up for. High school counselors for the most part don't give a damn. They only pay attention to the popular kids, very smart kids and the really terrible students. Average kids get looked over and forgotten about.
These STEM fields, you have to be good in math. I never even took calculus, so I couldn't make in it any of them. But I stay on my nieces and nephews about their math skills.
the shyt is pathetic, the sad thing is that racism does not explain it, racism explains it a little in that you will likely face it like this chick did but avoiding the racism in the STEM fields isnt the solution as this chick also shows, if we avoid fields that are racist or have few blacks that isnt gonna take us anywhere in the long run
a large part of the explanation is that black people simply dont focus on those fields, i think we have to focus on it deliberately not just casually like we do now
Black Parents asking 2 times a week if your doing well in school and getting angry when your not has got to be one of the most laughable things I have ever witnessed in my life.
Its almost comedy. Not to sound harsh but many times they don't even know the basics of what they are getting angry at you at compared to someone say like the Chinese or Indians.
They think asking once in the blue moon whether you are doing good makes a difference when they aint teach shyt or try to relearn stuff when they realized they were gonna have a kid so they would be prepared in advance.
