Prime Tyson had trouble against an old ass Larry Holmes :flabbynsick:

Lennox Lewis in his prime would’ve whooped him.
:gucci: he put away larry holmes in 4 rounds..4..he is the only one to stop him....where was the trouble..he put him down twice before putting him out

the only fighter that really bothered mike until the loss to buster was james tillis

Larry was washed when they fought though. Prime Holmes, is Tyson getting past that jab of Larry's? Many people tell me no.

Holyfield, Mercer, none of these dudes could even drop Holmes post 1988.

Even Ernie Shavers couldn’t keep a prime Holmes down. Only person that did was Tyson.

I’m taking prime tyson over everyone. Tyson speed, power and head movement with Rooney is unstoppable. Like someone said don’t let the YouTube fights against ped up Holyfield. And medicated out his prime tyson against Lewis fool u.

And like I'm saying, prime Lennox with Emmanuel Steward is knocking prime tyson out in late rounds.

Say what you will about Tyson, but he never got KOed in one punch by a journeyman like Oliver McCall or Hasim Rahman.

Yeah, prime or near-prime Tyson got KOed by Buster Douglas and Evander Holyfield. But that was after prolonged beatdowns that lasted several rounds.

in 2002, saying that Tyson was a shell of his former self was very generous. Yet, Lewis was still ultra-cautious and scared to go in and finish things until Tyson was basically a dead man walking. Imagine how much more cautious the glass-jawed Lewis would be against a prime Tyson.

In all honesty, I think it would be a boring fight. It would be a lot like Tyson vs. Smith or Tyson vs. Tucker: Tyson is frustrated by having to deal with a much taller fighter and isn't able to do what he wants to do, but the much taller fighter is terrified, extremely cautious and just looking to survive and not get KOed. Tyson wins a boring decision by outworking the bigger man.

And Ali beats both of them, especially in a rematch

I posted in another thread a few months ago stating that Lennox Lewis beats any version of Mike Tyson....and I stand firm with this.

Experienced, physically gifted, and slightly past his prime Lewis vs Peak, blazing fast, head-moving, Kevin Rooney advising Tyson.

Lewis still wins. The fact that Tyson had some serious struggles against above average taller fighters says a lot. Imagine was Lewis would do, regardless of Mike's speed. Lennox was too big and knew how to take advantage of his physical gifts. It'd be a nightmare for Tyson to close the gap and get near enough to Lennox to land something big. As McCall and Rahman proved, Lennox can be knocked out when he's off balance or caught off guard, but he knew how to protect himself well. There's always a chance that Tyson could slip something past Lennox and hurt him. But when Lennox is focused, he ain't going anywhere. Key word is FOCUSED.

After the 6th or 7th round and once Tyson's head-movement quickly fades, Lewis breaks him down with the jab and wins almost all of the remaining rounds to a UD.
Agree with 98% of this. It would have to be a 2002 Lennox with a full training camp that gave a fukk. Not the version who ripped out Vitali's eye.

His style is 100% wrong for Tyson, at any time.

I see a lot of folks talking about Tyson's fear factor so let's get one thing straight here. Lennox when he was wary of someone was one of the most dangerous fighters ever. See his fights with Razor Ruddock, Morrison, Golota, Holyfield first fight, Tua and Rahman second fight.

When he took his opponents seriously no one could touch him

yall nikkas naive as hell. 1988 mike tyson had the fear factor like nobody else. nikkas went to the ring thought they gonna die.

fear changes everything. i ain't sayin lennox would fear tyson. but you can't ignore the mental aspect of the boxing.

2002 Lennox Lewis had Emmanuel Steward............what fear?:birdman:

Steward feared no man, and had his fighters adopt the same mindset. Tyson aint beating Lewis with Steward by his side off of something like "fear", period.
