And he was strong as hell too.

Wilt would have dominated every era. Maybe not 45-50 a game, but he would has gotten at least 30 a game.

In today's NBA he would get 35 and 17.

Shaq played in an era of centers just as bad as this and he never put up those numbers

Didn't miss games either unless he was really injured (like the torn ACL he had)

And back in those days they traveled in seats not befitting a 6'6" dude let alone a 7'1" dude.

Sick ass videos in this thread. I loved watching that Wilt one. I'd love to see more videos like that. Especially would love to see more of real young Kareem/Alcindor.

I said Usain was the next evolution, what you'll see 20 years from now is a bunch of guys between 6"4-6"6. Usain opened eyes, before him people never really thought guys that tall could run like that. What will happen since he came on the scene is that track coaches will look to kids they never really gave a second thought to before, the tall lanky kid that doesn't like football or basketball.

Yup...look at the nfl...megatron will be the standard in the future...CBs will be terrell owens built...

I can't agree with this, Usain is the next evolution in what a sprinter will be, Jesse would run into the same wall that Tyson Gay has run into trying to keep up with Bolt, regardless of what equipment is used.

@ 6"5 190lbs he is massive compared to Owens who was 5"10 157-165lbs, longer legs, longer strides, it's why he comes on so strong in the last 50m. There are differences in athletes now and then, and it's mostly in regards to weight and the ability to retain explosiveness while being heavy.

Also consider advances in medicine...athletes heal from injuries today that would have ended careers back in the day. Also consider advancement in training which raise an athletes potential by maximizing their gifts. I respect the old timers.

All of our modern day heroes will be old times and they'll be saying that today's athletes aren't good enough to compete with the athletes that we will see in the future.

nah. Most tall dudes are not naturally fast like that. Tall does not equate to speed. Bolt is an anomaly. Look at the NFL, you got a tall guy like Moss, and there really aint anyone else like him out there.

Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Matt Jones, Vernon Davis, Jimmy Graham just off the top of my head. Dudes are getting bigger and faster.

None of those dudes are as fast as Moss, but they have anywhere from 30-60 pounds on him and still motor. Jimmy is about 6'7" 260 and ran a 4.5 :wow: Andre was a 10.5 dude in college part-timing and too heavy.

But the level of skill is diminishing. Dudes are not as fundamentally sound and are getting by with just athleticism.
