That's just the nature of anyone with money vs anyone who doesn't. My family is guilty of this at times. For instance we always have our family reunions in GA ( I don't mind, I'm moving down there in 2028) in very basic venues. We used to have them in other places but the relatives in Georgia simply did not have the money to travel and stay in swanky hotels so we decided to just keep it in GA to the chagrin of some of the middle class people up north.
