If you're taken in the first round you get a guaranteed contract, Fultz could blow out his knee tomorrow and suffer a career ending injury and they'd still have to pay him for the first 3 years of his contract. The only real protections teams have are the 4th year option, so if a player has been with a team for two years they have to decide to guarantee the next 4th year of their contract. You rarely see teams decline the option, Joel Embiid missed the first two years of his career and they still picked up his option, he made $9 million without ever playing a game And now since this will be his 4th year they have to decide if they want to give him a max offer or not, he will have played less than 120 games in 4 yrs and might end up making $20+ million a season.

Paulinho is a defensive midfielder without much skill but with great marking power, like Casemiro from Real Madrid. Incredibly, he is one of the great names of the Brazil squad at the moment
