and Dems wonder why they lose Pa, Mi and Wi :mjlol:

So it's OK to want the U.S. to make stoning gay people legal, make Protestant Christianity the OFFICIAL religion, ban ALL forms of Abortion, cut taxes on the rich, defund public education, defund social security, ban all Muslims, etc?

Oh but some person is "queer" and married to the son of an undocumented immigrant and that's the reason why Dems "lost Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan"? :martin:

I think the point he's trying to make is that focusing on identity politics in those regions isn't the best strategy. Those purple states care about blue collar jobs. So anything a candidate says should focus on that.

Every single policy or position being pushed by Repubs are built and grown from/in identity politics. In one way or another, identy politics are the whole basis of the Republican Party right now, because they have decided that if they can get enough white voters from flyover states that they can fool, they can stay in power.

nice to give him the benefit of the doubt but that person is running in CA,
not a purple state. he just wanted an excuse to bash dems or "queers" or whatever

what a CA candidate runs on in CA has shyt to do with white people in other states voting against their own interests.

then before that upthread nap is bytching that the other dudes ad was midwest porn or something
the dude is running in fukking farm country. farming is important to his potential voter.

jesus christ
candidates dont have to tailor their ads and statements to poster xyz on the coli.

I never said that. 2016 was all about identity politics for them.

So basically the Ann Coulter strategy.

I know there are a few folks who are annoyed or upset some people on the progressive left shyt on the left for being too centerist or not liberal enough.

I just wanted to express a random thought that if the criticism is just hating I can understand. At the same time it would be great in general if there is a blue wave but at the same time I think we do need to scrutinize these people once they win a seat or before to make sure they are still working in our interests outside of just having a D next to their name too. Need more feet to the fire accountability. Because take Ralph Northam. I mean it’s great when you get a win but I was more upset that he then wouldn’t commit to expanding Medicaid in the state once he won and seems to be more concerned with pandering to the republicans in state government. If our candidates are like this then I honestly don’t care if they win or lose. I’m not a purist but when you don’t do what you campaign on it’s infuriating. Especially this because we know that based on Public opinion polling there is even bipartisan support for more government to take a stronger role in healthcare.

We need more scrutiny on the democratic side.
Get the win first.

The the shift.

Don't do this again.

Remember, when you're campaigning, you need VOTES.

Being a centrist doesn't get votes though. If nothing else Hillary proved that.

That shyt does not get any Republican-leaning voters and just depresses turnout from the base. Unfortunately the Dems never learn and always want to pander to people who aren't going to vote for them regardless.

Hillary being an unlikable candidate that was continuously painted as a politician who committed criminal acts is why she lost. Not that she was a centrist. shyt, Obama was a centrist if we're being honest
