So, the NY-19 District Dem vote is tomorrow and I'm not sure who to vote for. I feel like a guy like Jeff Beals with his Bernie Sanders connections would have an in against John Faso, but the Dems ain't backing him and I think he places too much importance on single-payer. Antonio Delgado might be too much like Obama to win here in my opinion (but I could be wrong since this district voted Obama in... But they also voted Trump). Gareth Rhodes would be great if he never worked for Cuomo (they hate him as much as they hate Hillary here). I think I'm gonna vote Delgado cause he's the only brown person...

Voted Delgado. I listened to the same podcast and while I think Beals is the right choice to show the DNC that the Clinton way is not gonna win this district, his ideals are not structured in the same way mine are. I think it would be great to have Medicare for all but it's not my top priority. I think Delgado will eventually push for it...he sounds like he has a structured way of making things happen as opposed to Beals "we can make it happen now" view.

Edit: if Beals ends up winning though he'll have my support 100%

Voted but I don't think the guy I voted for has a chance :manny:. Kind of crazy that the ballot was for just one Congressional district. Turnouts for thesw things always seems abysmal.

reason and rationale?

Other than this, I didn't see much from him on social media (twitter specifically i dunno about the others) when I think the district is ripe for some change and he could've gotten a lot of media attention from a lot of folks who live around or in the district are on the left and in media. Maybe next time around he'll have more of a shot unless I'm missing something here and have been in my own little bubble.

I'm 100% sure the majority of the people I know had no clue about any election happening today as well.

I got the same feeling as well. The state doesn't really do much to make sure everyone knows that there's an election going on today either. It's up to the individuals who do know to notify others... And not just in a "I voted" Facebook post after 9 o'clock either
