People don't realize that a lot of the white Florida votes that backed Obama and won him Florida in 2008-2012 were before the whitelash in this country.
You had people backing him because it made them not feel racist, plus he was charismatic, and his policy wasn't too off the mark for them with the left not being what it is now. That's why when those cats hit me with the, "I can't be racist, I voted for Obama!" I just gave them the. Acting like Obama didn't lose votes because he was black... it works both ways breh.
All them racist motherfukkers went running back to Trump when made them feel better about being white.
