Election Day should be a election days. Starting Friday to Tuesday. Give people the weekend to vote when they are off. Use electronic voting. Give felons the right to vote and also make voting mandatory. If you don’t vote you pay a fine.
Actually one of the ideas floating around by progressives (notice it's not coming from conservative democrats or centrists) is providing a small tax credit (nothing big - like $50) to people who vote when they file their taxes.

@NY's #1 Draft Pick and there you have it! Dems have pulled past republicans at the booth. They trailed since day 1. They were behind by as many as 150k+ votes at one point and now they're head by a small margin not counting NPA's. This is huge.

Edit: Good point.

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
:ehh: Hopefully we got a few votes today. Did all we could, spoke to a few really nice people. A nice ole sista gave me a cup of hot tea since it was so cold out :mjcry: Hopefully we pull this one out, I don't see ANY energy or excitement for Faso and didn't see not one person going door to door for him while I saw 3 other groups doing so for Delgado.
The campaign ad where he promised to not take away the woman with brain cancers health care, and then did, lol, I don’t think his ad making fun of “AD the logic” is as effective. If AD loses, it’s strictly based on the racism of upstate NY, so take solace in the fact that 1. YOU ACTUALLY DID SOMETHING!! & 2. There is NOTHING you or anybody can do to make people less/not racist. They have to do that on their own.

That's weak. :hhh:

Just make election day a national holiday or force employers to give up some PTO.

The purpose is to incentivize voting. Yes, better efforts should be made to make the existing process easier like giving PTO, but that doesn't necessarily give a non-voter a reason to go vote. A tax break, however, does.

I really don't think a $50 tax credit is going to motivate that many people to vote if they weren't already going to.

IMO, not having to work that day would do a much better job of increasing turnout.

Looking at some of the competitive races, control of the house could come down to how Black candidates do in mostly white districts that are in the lean and toss up categories.

For the Democrats

NC 2 - Linda Coleman
NY 19 - Antonio Delgado
GA 6 - Lucy McBath
TX 32 - Colin Allred
IL 14 - Lauren Underwood

For the Republicans

UT 4 - Mia Love
