I had a convo with someone about this earlier.

We shyt on young voters and say they aren't shyt when looking at these numbers. We need to start asking why they feel this way. 9/11 happened when we were young. Our privacy got invaded. Then when we began to work, the 2008 crisis occurred. Student loan debt is out of control.

It is easy to say young voters aren't shyt, but let's start figuring out why. The world has fukked this generation over in a way I can't explain, and it won't get better.

You say vote, but they came out for Obama, and the world didn't change that much. My only point is let's look at why instead of writing them off.
i get your point. why should i care about financial policy when i have no savings. why should i care about housing policy if i live at home. a lot of people in this generation have given up hope. i feel for them. that '08 crash combined with the student loan crisis has deaded the american for a lot of people. that being said we have a pig in the white house flinging mud at everyone. everyday i see the trump outrage on twitter from people our age so i dont understand the disconnect when it comes to voting. it's sickening that people who have 10-15 years to live are dictating much of the policy in this country.

So some very bad news brehs. I'm back at PSU this week for work to talk to students about the workforce and what not. So I've spent time with about 200 students. In both classes I spoke with I asked students what the importance of Nov 6 was. NOT A SINGLE STUDENT KNEW THAT NOVEMBER 6 WAS THE MID-TERM ELECTIONS.

:snoop::francis: cuz I was crushed. This is the future. If anything, based on education alone these are the kids you'd think would be the most politically active. This shyt is over.

I'm about to make some calls today to find out who is leading voter registration on campus because this shyt would not have been allowed when I was an undergrad.
penn state? that's disappointing to hear about a university of that stature.

It's a diff Gen of youth, 18-22 year olds don't remember 9/11, etc. they didn't vote obviously back in 08/12. They are too involved in Social Media, and keeping up with there peers, they simply don't care enough to vote

People my age want to be inspired. Most of us have very bleak worldviews because to us, the world is fukked and the people in charge are making it worse. The disconnect is people my age don't get that we aren't the future, we'rr legally adults so we are the president. I look at a lot of the people that I chill and used to chill with and I wonder when they're going to get their shyt together and grow up.

For me, I can't vote so I try to make people aware of what is happening and the issues, but that "both sides are shyt" mentality has been branded into the mind of my peers. My friends paid me almost no mind about anything about Russia, and then when Cohen flips they come to me looking for a quick run down on whats happening:snoop:. People aren't seeking information and the truth is just relative at this point. Most people my age wants a quick summary so they can move on to the next topic or idea. I 100% blame public school and all the stupid state tests they made us do. Teachers didn't have time to teach us about the world, they had to teach us about shyt for tests that directly impact their job.

:skip:People my age are just empty as hell and they all want to just be in their depression instead of doing something about it

I work on a college campus. They remember 9/11.

They may not voted in 2008/12 but they are taking on student loans that are crushing them. I am telling you, this generation is close to hopeless. We need to do a study as to why.

Then you have the older millennials like myself who experienced all that and hte world fukked up over and we lost a lot of earning potential.

I will have to disagree, while they aware of 9/11, they dont remember the effects and the immediate aftermath and how the world changed after 9/11. 18-22 years would have been what? 3-5 years old when it happened? At least I was in grade school when 9/11 happened, 18-22 years were barely in kindergarten. I am an older millenial like yourself, I just don't think the kids are fully aware yet, it sucks because it is at a crucial time, add in Social Media and how none of these Celebs, icons, social media stars etc dont even put youth up on game, at least we had conscience artists and movements...what do they have now? six9? The only political artist they hear from is kanye lol

I might need to start putting sirens up like Nap :heh:

Because in 2012, DFM and Mitchell was the only polling firm to predict the outcome of the 2012 race. He consistently polled North Dakota that year and predicted a narrow victory for Heitkamp based on regional polling he did shortly before Election Day. Mitchell’s statewide poll showed the race tied 47-47 percent and the rest undecided. Mitchell based his prediction on the bellwether Burleigh County, where Heitkamp had better numbers than Democrats historically need to win statewide races.

That red tide shyt is starting to hit Miami I was reading articles about it this afternoon. Now that people down south are starting to experience they will know who’s at fault. No way Rick Scott wins the senate seat
