People, yall are getting "sticker shocked".. it's not really that bad :pachaha:.

Those prices sound high to yall because of what YOU pay per month, and how much you make at work, down south.. What yall need to realize, though, is that you'd get paid much more in NYC doing the same jobs as you do in the South.

That is how the average NYC resident can pay $1500 per month rent to live in NYC.

They wouldn't be a "king" if they moved down here to live, because the wages wouldn't transfer most likely. Working at Target in NYC you'd probably make about $3 more than working at a Target in the south.

It's all relative.
I pay $820 a month for a one bedroom here in Texas, all I do is over night stocking. dont tell me NYC pays almost double what I make/started at for stocking. couple dollars more isnt gonna make me be able to afford $1500 rent :stopitslime:

nah these NY cats are losing, and dont let them think any differently if they paying more than a damn house mortgage for rent.
You pay for what you get.
A lot more people from all over the world want to live in NY because it's obviously the best city if you can afford it, which is why it's expensive.
Same with San Francisco and perhaps LA.

People are not really moving from Paris to the fukking Memphis :dead:.

Pay more = get a better city, pay less = get a shyttier city.
So define losing.

How is NY "obviously" the best city? Take a poll on here as a sample size, see who the hell even would want to live in NY

Do you really think The Coli represents the world?

NY is on of all the lists in the world, "top metropolitan", "top city", "best night life", "24h city", "top financial district", "most cultural cities" bla bla bla.

The colis would wonder if it 1. Do they have good sports? 2. Is the rent cheap? 3. Are the girls easy

:childplease:, just observe this thread.

Most people might be alright with small town life, shytty ass restaurants, shytty nightlife, uneducated population, crime, lack of art and creativity, Wall Mart saturdays and on.. But in the real world, no one gives a fukk about any city in US except LA, NY and San Francisco/Bay area. And obviously Miami and Vegas for vacation. (One might stretch it to Chicago, but that's like NY but a whole lot shyttier and Houston if we really wanna stretch it and include cities like Copenhagen, Guangzhou etc).

Those cities are the ones they rank with London, Madrid, Paris, Shanghai, Hongkong, Singapore, Zurich, Rome, Rio etc.

Of course we could be talking about places like Greenwich Connecticut and stuff but lets limit ourselves to real cities.

Do they exist? Well I'm sure they eXist but wat type of place can that get you?

I got a new job and I can basically work in any city that has an opening for my specific title...I'm in Cali now and Im trying to move across country , wanna try new shyt.

I got people I Boston but I'd rather try NY, I got a cousin out there, she pays 1500 a month for a small ass apartment in Crown Heightz BK with a roomate:what:.
I'm sure it depends on the area/borough but I wanna stay within a 1 hr commute to JFK (not using a car)

I've looked online at various rental sites but it really don't help because I have no idea what the area is like. What's some chill spots for trans plants? It ain't gotta be in grenage village or no shyt but not the pj's either.
I could possibly swing $2k a month for rent but I'd rather not.
also I wanna avoid the hipster/gentrification areas if possible

I moved to the bx to the van Cortland park area a year ago, I got a 1 bedroom apartmenI for 1075 a month. Its big tho. Long hallway, big kitchen that has space for a table, huge living room, and the bedroom is pretty spacious. Its just me my wife and daughter so we don't feel cramped up, plus the area is not bad, a lil hood but not bad,and we right next to the 1 train...that's about as cheap as you gonna find for a place with space

Go out and travel kid, learn about what people want, study some economics or just do some fukking basic math.
NY has the highest demand for real estate in the world, NY, London, San Fran, Hong Kong and some other places.

We are not talking about people who value sports teams doing well over having access to the most diverse, educated and culturally enhanced population in the nation.

The only thing that's bad with NY is the weather, a trait shared with several other top cities. Brazil's cities, Sidney, Melbourne, Rome, Miami, Madrid/Barcelona, Houston, La are the only top cities with nice weather. But gaining in weather will have yo losing in terms of other things contra other top cities.
