the music and imagery is glamourizing this lifestyle to young, impressionable minds. Its gas on top of fire. I REALLY hope that you're not older than say 27 thinking the way that you do. If you're young than i understand your naivety. Post me a song of a white artist singing or rapping about killing, selling drugs or promoting the prison/gang lifestyle? White people do all of that stuff too right? And i mean a song that gets mainstream play. Just 1. Trap Queen is currently one of the hottest songs in America. Its promoting drug distribution. Post me a "white" equivalent.

People act like we just talking down on all of Hip Hop music and it's disingenuous as fukk.

We specifically talking about degenerative gang violence being glorified in rap music to teens.

Bobby Shmurda Hot nikka got 100 million views on youtube, Chief Keef got songs with 50 million views.

The video in the the OP of this thread is a perfect example of gang violence being glorified in rap music.

When it was the threads about murders in Chicago it's the exact same shyt being said.

He shouldn't have been in rap videos with gangbangers then if he didn't want to be down....:snoop:

Like @360dagod said Rakim was rapping about his melody and Supreme Team was still dropping nikkas left and right...

This kid grew up in the Morrisania section of the Bronx, which was once part of the poorest congressional district in the nation still might be one of the poorest, he grew up to poor working class immigrant parents who were probably oblivious to American gang culture, he grew up in a place long ravaged by drug addiction and gang violence before rap music was even created. Did music inspire him or did the nikkas on the corner with the fly clothes, who had all the bytches, who had money, who always seemed to be chilling and having fun and had status inspire him? This kid was drawn in by the allure of being a gangster something that's not only present in hip hop music, but movies, books and TV shows. This kid was drawn in by allure of popularity and he had a very limited view on life because he didn't receive proper guidance.

White people don't make music like that because it's not as prevalent in their communities due to systematic white supremacy, also I'm pretty sure you can find some rock songs glorifying drug use or whatever I don't listen to to that shyt so... :manny:

Are some kid impressionable yeah, but to say hip hop is "gas" is an overstatement understand why gangsta rap, drill and trap music are made breh :heh:

No just no :heh:

He was in a video with a bunch of Crips, his brother was a Crip, he has pictures throwing up C's and other gang signals, he's been sent away to DR because he was on the streets, he has 5 prior arrests at 14, he had a picture with a Smith & Wesson at 11 years old. This was a bad ass little kid breh.

cmon Man U making this shyt ridiculous. Of course all of these can happen. All I'm saying is he had a better chance at being alive if he was strapped in that situation. He had no gun so he got blasted. Scenerio could of went a totally different way if he was strapped. He may had still got clapped OR he could of pulled out first and blasted his potential murderer.

You said, "Give me a scenario where if this kid was strapped, he would of been capped earlier. I wanna hear this." I gave you EIGHT.

Yes, if he was strapping, he might have lived or died on this particular day. But packing heat and gang-banging in the hood makes those life-or-death situations come up a lot faster and a lot more often. It's not just that it makes you a bigger target to other guys who are strapping (it certainly does), it's that it makes you more likely to do things that get you shot.

well yea i absolutely agree with what you're saying here. i am not denying that this kid MIGHT HAVE eventually died or went to prison living that lifestyle, im just saying if he wanna live that life then u gotta go all the way with it. u cant just pump fake, throw up gang signs, and diss rival gangs and not even carry a piece with u. He absolutely could of ruined his life along the road if he was strapped and killed the dude. But I say "COULD" because there's murderers walking amongst us (atleast me) that dont ever get that karma back and they go on to live life as if nothing ever happened after killing someone.
