Damn. I just got enough nerve to watch this. First time I noticed HBK kept his arm around Rey and meanwhile HHH kept his arm around Chris and a lot of the roster kept their hands on Chavo. I legit got tears, brehs. :mjcry:

damn that is pretty sad. Knowing he used drugs in hopes to get brolic enough to be considered a main eventer

glad WWE getting away from that roided look and letting true talent shine as champion ala AJ Styles

Didn't Eddie stop taking roids and other drugs in 2003? It look's like the damage was done.

He stopped doing drugs for a long time

But he was still on roids according to an investigation into some doctor that was prescribing them to him and other wrestlers.

I mean, you can see how unnaturally jacked Eddie was during his championship run and later. Even I knew back then he had no business being that damn big.

I see. Chris Benoit was another one that was extremely jacked. Had he not killed himself he'd probably get a fatal heart attack similar to Eddie.

I didn't start watching wrestling for another three years, but it always seemed like what Biggie and Pac were to hip hop, Eddie was to the business. He was one of the last wrestlers to be universally beloved, and he was skilled at everything he did. His character work is something that all future wrestlers should study. If he was a face, all you wanted to do was root for him and cross your fingers that he beat the odds. If he was a heel, all you wanted to do was spit on him and hope he got everything that was coming to him.

I think this is what killed Benoit before anything else did. That moment where he's crying over Eddie's death is one of the most uncomfortable things I've ever seen. He even says that Eddie would talk him out of doing certain things he was thinking about. :skip:

I didn't stick around for the "Smackdown Six" era but my favorite run of Eddies was easily the Latino Heat era. He & Chyna had crazy good chemistry. Dude was putting on great matches and killed the Pepe Le Pew act.

It's surreal to think that they're both dead. Just heartbreaking. I remember this period so vividly even though so much time has come and gone.
