No, the movies where you KNOW of him being in were slave movies. He's also been in great movies like American Gangster, Dirty Pretty Things, Children of Men, Inside Man, and Talk to Me. He's been in 30 flicks, and the only ones you know of were slave movies, one of which he didn't even play a fuckin' slave.

Maybe Mcqueen wanted to make this movie because he wanted to tell the story of Solomon Northup. It's an inspiring story that people should know about.

This is what pisses me off about you dumb ass nikkaz, then you got the nerve to say I'm a troll
you put words in my mouth instead of just listening to what I'm saying

I said the BIGGEST MOVIES, I know all the movies he's been in
but the most elaborate productions the man has starred in have been SLAVE EPICS, DO YOU NOT SEE THIS

The biggest productions associated with black actors are fukking SLAVE FILMS, do you not see what I'm getting at

Did you just ignore my post about how the first black actress to win an oscar played a fukking maid in 1939, and that's still the case in 2014
you do not see this shyt

All I'm trying to tell you simple simon has nikkaz is the white man is PISSING on your back and TELLING you it's RAIN

I don't get why people act like there's a ton of movies on slavery....there's not.

The movie was well executed and portrayed a real era in this country, that it seemed Hollywood had been content to ignore. Before Django, I believe Amistad is the only movie that really showed it in my lifetime. How many holocaust movies did we have?

And this movie touched on an issue that I don't think was really well known by most Americans: the kidnapping of freeman.

I swear, some folks have a persistent inferiority complex which makes them find slight in everything. This movie showed white folks as straight devils (including their proper ladies) and folks are still complaining :mindblown:

You're missing the point, they can make twenty more the movies,

the white man will always view you as a slave, a black woman has an exotic sexual object, I see the shyt everyday in modern life
they slick, you have to know the ways of the devil they don't even realizing they doing it is THEIR NATURE

they're not making these movies to feel some kind of guilt

I know the white man is wicked because I've seen it for my own goddamn eyes, also the psychological tactics they use as well

:WHAT!:

The biggest productions that he's starred in have been 2012, American Gangster and Salt. In two of those three films he was the protagonist, Salt was a spy thriller and 2012 was a disaster movie.

Yes they were, :heh: 2012 was a $200M production with him as the second lead after John Cusack he played a science advisor to the U.S president. Salt was a $100M movie where he played a CIA officer and the joint secondary lead with Liev Schriber.

What does any of that have to do with the movie? The "white man will always view me as a slave" with or without this movie, so what does that have to do with whether they make this movie or not?

I don't give a shyt about white guilt, I care about entertainment value of the movie. It was well written, well shot, and well acted and told a really good story involving a subject that's not often touched up in American entertainment and I appreciated it.

Not that I give a shyt about these awards, but black folks are not only recognized films about slavery.

Now, your on a soap box about the court system? Yea that's fukked up, but what does that have to do with this movie?
