Ronald ellis said David's power isn't even close to canelo. And it's obvious even watching them fight. David gets these knockouts from accumulation on guys who don't even move their head. After canelo's body shots zap his energy it's gonna get ugly for him.

Canelo would have trouble with benavidez. That workrate is crazy. David will walk through fire to land his. Only thing we not sure is if truly David can take canelo power. I tend to believe he can, I just think it's a dope matchup. Both of them would be throwing.

I tend to think it would play out like canelo vs GGG one. Where canelo would look good when he is active but was gassing out like crazy, thing is benavidez work rate and conditioning is insane. Canelo is an accumulation puncher the same way. He grinds you down especially body work. Benavidez body would be available with his high guard.

A lot of these recent fighters wasn't throwing nothing canelo could respect power wise. I think if canelo respect what's coming back he's more mindful of that.

I just want to see this matchup even more than canelo vs Charlo. Canelo got options, 2 Mexicans on Cinco de mayo would be ill. I'm tired of all the hypotheticals let's just have dope fights. See the styles match up and who comes out on top

Someone like David that fights how he fights — has literally been fighting guys that fight like Plant all his boxing life. Every guy that gets into the ring with him is going to have damn near the same gameplan: use the ring and movement, fight off the jab, stay off the ropes, give him different angles, feint, stay off the line. shyt, DB is so used to fighting guys that do what Plant does, I don’t even think he would make the 11th. I think he stops him in 7-8.

Canelo is a great fighter, but he adopted this seek and destroy style later in his career, and like anything there’s levels to that style. His style is a more measured seek and destroy. Whereas David is trying to get you the fukk up outta there expeditiously. What the fukk would Plant do to keep him off him? Double jab ? I’d pick Canelo to win, but I feel confident in that David would stand his ground against Canelo, he’d let his hands go, and it would be a riveting fight.

Yea I been said the key to beating Canelo is not a slick boxer..Even Floyd wasn’t to slick..he stood in the middle of the ring and made Canelo pay for missing and backed him up at times.

Canelo is a great fighter no doubt but for the last 4 or 5 fights ain’t nobody ever tried to lay some leather on him.

Canelo would be the favorite but David will give him hell for as long as it last.. Canelo not using his jab is troubling to me. Hopefully he ain’t fell in love with his power.
