Former WWE star Virgil made an appearance in a video package for Chris Jericho on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Charlotte, NC at the Bojangles Coliseum on TNT.
Since he doesn’t own the trademark to the Virgil name, he’s going by Soultrain Jones. He announced today that he has signed with the promotion:
“The hottest free agent has dipped his breadsticks into the ALL Elite Era. It was an easy decision. Since I wasn’t going to give my equity back from the WWF days, I got Headhuntered years ago by one of my students who I mentor to this day Shahid and Tony Kahn. From their I have given my life’s work to help big media conglomerates to enhance their brand. TNT has been in my pocket since Teddy Turner and I crushed WCW. So when they brought to me AEW The first thing I thought Alfredo Enchilada Wrestling. Head blown. Finally someone that can mix cuisine into the squared circle. So when Tony offered me equity for my brand I knew that the deal was gonna be right. Tony offered me a VP position to get a piece of my ass and I said “Veal Parm? sure but load me up with that unlimited Pasta Pass”. He said “yes Lord Veezus” When Le Champion called me and said we need your meat in our Inner Circle. I said It simple to my WCW southpaw “show me Le fukk Monay”. Deal done. We signed a contract at my home turf @olivegarden and the rest was Wednesday night history. The catering has been upped, the story has been cemented and the breadsticks are now FOREVER unlimited.”

Someone like Dustin/Malenko/Lynn/Jericho/Tony/JR really should have said Jericho doing a comedy vignette for what they're building as some super serious, personal feud that last week had Cody's brother demolished in a parking lot (maybe I missed it but I sure don't recall any update on how he was doing) didn't fit with the story they're telling at all.

One of the all time greats and best in the business Co-signed Cody.
He still to this day is probably one of the top 2 or 3 over guys in the bus and the most successful actor of the last 3-5 years.

To Cody, this match is SERIOUS and everything to him.
To Jericho, this match is just a Thursday afternoon. He’s been there, done that and not even being phased by Cody or taking him, the Elite or this match seriously. Cuz in his mind, he’s still Chris Jericho, the greatest of all time and he has the Inner Circle.
I mean jeez, it’s simple booking

Smooth sailing from here on out...
Build to this PPV has been pretty trash honestly, 90% of the build has been run ins & that's about it 
Jericho vs Cody has been built well, mainly due to those 2 being about the only ones really getting promo time.
Omega vs Moxley feels like they decided they already did the build leading to All In & couldn't be bothered to do much more after that got canceled. Since they got to TV the build has been pretty much both guys showing up with their weapons & the Moxley promo where he was more pissed that it was made an unsanctioned match than anything else.
Bucks vs PNP was a challenge, they accepted the challenge, & then not much else beyond the brawl to end this show.
Page vs PAC is probably the second best built match on the show. Only real issue I have with this match is they pretty much have backed themselves into Page winning because he needs a big win but PAC really shouldn't lose since he should probably be the next challenger for the title.
Riho vs Sakura just got announced on Dark I believe. Has had no build outside of a random tag match where 3 of the 4 people involved are unknowns to the crowd pretty much. Sakura got announced as the challenger just for reasons pretty much.
Baker vs Priestley is literally built off the strength of Priestley being a sloppy as shyt worker who keeps injuring Baker. Baker had a promo on Dark but I feel like Priestly hasn't been around in weeks.
SCU vs Lucha Bros vs Private Party is just following up the tourny so there wasn't time to build it around anything else. SCU & Lucha Bros still have them taking out Daniels but Private Party is just there probably to eat the pin.
Janela vs Spears was just started on Dark Tuesday. Should have probably been Darby vs Spears since they had the start of that & then just dropped it once TV started.
