For movies and TV/sports its the only way to go....

Games and content mastered around native 4K on a premium screen is a complete upgrade from 1080p.
Personally, I play single player games in 4K, and most multiplayer titles in 1440p. When I'm able to play games in native 4K with 100+ fps, every resolution under that is going in the trash.
I'll never go back to 1080p for movies and shows after watching 4K BluRays on the LG C9 and CX. I don't mind sports in 1080p, but everything else?
I don't even waste time watching porn anymore if it isn't in 4K.

Nah I can't fukk with 1080 screens. I have a 5K Dell IPS monitor for photo work, once you view high resolution files from a camera on there its next level resolution. My drone shoots 4K/30fps, that footage is just beautiful on the Dell and the two Samsung 4K tv's I have.

Only visual beef with 1080p is the jaggies are still farily prevalent. FXAA takes care of most of it, but still, that's a blurry filter at it's basic.
1440p is probably the sweet spot for fidelity and performance. Nonetheless, I will use a 1080p 144hz monitor for performance's sake. Higher refresh is much superior to the resolution count. And man, do I miss the scalability of CRTs. Wish there was a more economic way of making a flat style CRT, or at least using the light source "drawing" in a cheap way.

Just depends on the film, some of these movie companies be reaching with with the resolution, mainly 1080p and 4k.
example Gemini Man (2019) looked good as hell on 1080p and 4k, that 4k HDR makes it pop tho.
1080p can barely process inages like this with sharpness, other than that

I got a 4k tv, but 1080p with HDR is dope, I've been going back and playing games in HDR and it adds alot of detail and contrast to games.
But I honestly am stoked to see what 4k 60fps looks like in games

We honesty peaked at 1080p and there's no rising up from it. The only thing the industry need to focus on is refresh rate and nothing more. When I worked at Best Buy, one of the biggest scams is trying to convinced folks that 4K was the business, instead of enlightening them that it's a marketing ploy to sell Smart TV that become junk over the course of a few years in favor of being apart of a rat race. 4K can only accomplished the following:
Beyond that, if you are watching reality tv and regular shyt, it's pretty overkill. Don't get me started with it messing up old movies by making them look unrealistic.
- Better colors and textures (depends on what you watching)
- Brings some movies to life (bullet one)
- Makes video games look dope (bullet one)
Bottom line, folks still rocking with 720p for God's sake. Plus most folks moved onto monitors and etc. Only boomers and stunt boys try to get 80 inch 4k TVs like Baby and Mannie bragging about putting Dee Veee Deee in the fukking cars

Naw you aint a bum. You on point. 1080p looks clean to me. When upscaled to 4k it's so crisp. Those UHD 4k's got that fake look and the people look weird, especially those Pixar type cartoons. I don't even enjoy the movie as much cause it's so distracting. Regular 4k is cool though.am I a bum for not giving a fukk about 1440p, 4K, 8K and all that shyt?
1080p still looks clear as day to me
and I have legit 20/20 vision
I run a plex server and that shyt runs smooth until I try to flex and start putting those 4k's on there. Plus they chew up all of the storage. I actually only do 1080p and I try my best not go over 20gb with the file size.
