I think we in a good place if we bring back Nimmo and deGoat. That's the foundation. Once we have the base, we can bring in Rodon.
Jake/Max/Rodon is as good as it gets. Hell I wouldn't be opposed to saying fukk the luxury tax and reunite Max with Verlander. A Jake/Max/Verlander/Cookie rotation would require the best training staff on the planet. Just push all the chips in and make the best run possible this year

There's no way they sign Rodon if they also sign deGrom. I can't see them signing him even if they don't sign deGrom. They'd have to give up 2 draft picks and international free agent pool money. Plus dude has a sketchier injury history than deGrom.

Who do people think the Mets should target via trade or free agency if Nimmo goes elsewhere?
I don't think the Mets should move Marte back to center so I think the Mets should go with one of two options
Option A: Sign Bellinger. The dude is young and it'll be a one year contract. Sign somebody else with him who can play a little left field maybe and/or a corner infield but who is much more of a DH bat and/or spend that money bolstering the bullpen.
Option B: Same as Option A but instead of signing Bellinger, trade for a good defensive centerfielder that won't cost much prospect wise. Trading for Bryan Reynolds or somebody like that would cost too much. Alvarez and Baty ain't going anywhere.
Side note: Mets fans gotta cut it out with the trade for Ohtani talk. He's gonna be a free agent. Trading for him would be stupid af.
