I think Idzik's leash was cut especially short because he exposed himself as not being a "football guy" and more of a bean counter. That plus, Woody loved Rex and Idzik did him no favors. So much so that it almost looked like sabotage. He rode the coattails of being in Seattle when they first started to get good. He was wrongly attributed as being one of those calling shots. He wasn't.
I like that. Good organizations don't tip their hands or showboat until they've won or done something of note. Even they have to know that last season was an aberration and they still have a lot of work to do.
As for Hackenburg, once again, I'm hoping that Mac is as smart as they say he is and he sees something in Hack that'll pan out once they work the kinks out.
