And yes rex drafted a thumper and made him play as the coverage safety.

But in the end it probably made him a better player getting that experience.

Im saying this year. I think the team is seeing if Petty's worth keeping over Geno as he's getting most of the work this preseason. The team knows what they have in Geno(a backup).

You can't blame a coach trying to win though. Rex was fighting for his job. But I've always said when you have a coach and it's clear and obvious he won't be there the next year you can him during the season ASAP. Nothing worse than winning meaningless games down the stretch messing up draft position

Did Hack look salvageable?

I saw a strong arm, ability to go through progression, accuracy, anticipation and decent mechanics in a clean pocket. I emphasize clean pocket because Hackenberg is abysmal against pressure. Although he was hardly pressured, he couldn't escape the rush or complete gainful passes when pressure did come. That's why he went like 6/16 overall in the game.
