How does a group of songs or music genre set anyone back? All types of music can have negative affect on a person it's just hip-hop is more direct with what they're trying to say cause its more lyric based.

Set back in the eyes of who? What is he scared someone that doesn't listen to hip-hop will listen to those songs and judge a race of people. Why care about the opinion of someone that stupid. If your trying to say people will imiatate the behavior then you could say that about any genre of music.

Only reason hip-hop gets shytted on is because its so damn popular just about everything gets a spin somewhere. Some of those are just for comedy, fun, or people rapping about problems their having.

Last if you say there's no good hip-hop today your not a fan and out of touch cause 2012 has easily been of the better years in a long time the radio is shyt and most good artist have ditched the mainstream thanks to the internet.

I think people oversimplify it thinking it's just a song about welfare. I think it's a song about drug dealers coming up on the 1st off welfare recipients. it's a fuct up situation where what little money a hood has gets funneled into the hands of a few cats

Here I was thinking that "1st of tha Month" was about getting up to pay your rent

i dont this article too seriously, the title actually cracked me up when i read it and its just one man's opinion but i do think rap music in general has set black people back in the sense that it has reinforced and magnified behavior that is not conducive to prosperity
