I agree nobody cares about them, but if they have the pigment advantage like u said, then why not? With ur logic they should all be platinum artists

They would if they were any good

Mac Miller had a wack track go gold a few months ago and he's independent. Cuz they love him

If Nas released Not Afraid do u think it would be #1

Alright il give u that. But Em definitely has the talent to back him up so I hate when nigaz act like its purely cause of his pigment. He once had respect from blaks cause of his dope rhymes

Em is top #3 alive but to say being white isn't helping him is a lie

If Nas was white you would say Illmatic isnt a classic and Nas is over rated because hes white

Yeah
I'm not surprised.

The main consensus of hip hop is that it's a joke.

The only people who take it seriously is the Internet community and nikkas sprinkled here and there. It's more of entertainment.

Mind you shyt is basically free now.

The quality has gone way down.

The artistic side of it is non existent.

Labels only financially support a select few.

A&R's don't do shyt anymore (in comparison to before).

Rappers don't try to make music for the next ten years.

They make music for right now.

So when all of those rock bands was shytting on Rap back in the 80s as a "fad" it looks that way.

R&B is in the same boat.

Don't ask me why but I believe when R&B comes back (if it ever does) hip hop will thrive back as well.

Fans are to blame as well because we really don't support are acts like other genres.

We shyt on any black artist that gets big (eventually) which is understandable because most artist use "growing as an artist" as an excuse to sell out to pop records.

Can't really blame the labels too much tho. They only reinvest on what's selling. So when one artist does something and the formula works everyone jumps on the bandwagon and runs it dry.

I remember when payola was illegal now it's pretty common.

I'm just rambling but it's crazy how unbalanced urban music as a whole is and Im aware some of you may say that the radio/tv is not important but it really still is and it's obvious why you hear and see the same 20 songs everyday......

THERE'S NO BALANCE.

Lupes album not getting any spins is a great example it's quite obvious he's not talking about the "normal" on his songs but that's what was great about 90s and even early 00s there was still variety.

just proves that this is mainstream wise the worst, most embarrassing era of hip hop ever.
