i liked aalyiah before the tragedy as well, but her legacy has been overblown to laughable proportions.

and i'd take aalyiah's music over brandy's at least. but theres a much wider gap in talent in favor of brandy. so i cant put her over brandy either. brandy did not make the list, btw.

eh. monica made better music too dog. aalyiah aint got no classic album, from what i remember. and i'd rather have malik rapping on my chit than timbaland. cmon son. think about that one.

you don't like missy? she was like one of her main writers. she produced too. and co-produced "one in a million". you sure you don't like missy?

I'm exaggerating. I liked Missy's production and writing (Aaliyah, Tweet, Nicole, 702 - all dope). I just hated her solo stuff.

if missy had a "better look", she prolly would've kept the majority of those songs for herself.

much better singer than rapper.

she would've been ranked higher than aalyiah as well.

its 1990-2013.

and I liked aalyiah before the post-death revisionism, but she was a mediocre talent carried by her writers & producers. she really didn't do anything well but vibe to the tracks. and I bet kelz held her hand thru that intially as well. and I think I know who kelz bit aalyiah's style from. I have a pretty good idea. so nah, putting her on the list would be disrespectful.

that's somewhat the same reason ashanti isn't on the list, and ashanti is like a top 3 favorite of mines. and shoot, ashanti would make the top 10 before aalyiah.

about your aaliyah criticism again...i don't think anyone ever says your wrong...

but how come you don't bring up how Beyonce was similar in 98/99? i mean i believe she was a better vocalist than aaliyah then but not by much...

later on in the 2000s when she got that vocal coach she improved drastically.....it was kind of like Kobe being drafted 13th and being very good already but becoming even better after hard work...basically what im saying is that beyonce was not always this superb either...i know your probably not a fan of the "If this___happened" analogies but aaliyah could have easily improved drastically like beyonce did.... :manny:

aalyiah was out for 7 years dog. and she was signed 3 years before that. that's 10 years at least. plus her uncle is barry hankerson and he had her out there singing on stage with Gladys knight before all of that. over a decade in the business and she still couldn't sing. plus beyonce at her weakest is clearly a better vocalist than aalyiah at her best.

meh. kobe was drafted low because he came out of high school at a time when it was still taboo to do such, and it was a loaded draft. one of the best drafts ever.

I got no problems with Mary at #1 but Coko :stopitslime:. Oh no! Looks like Kanye West is running up to the stage to snatch the mic...
