Sorry but i have to agree with HRR on this one. He said from the 90s until today. It's not really Aaliyah's fault :manny: but Beyonce >>

That's like saying Biggie isn't one of the greatest in New York because Jay and Nas are still alive.

Honestly you can't name 90s female r&b and miss songs like this..

It is Wacky's list so it can be anything he wants...just saying heh

I'm really curious about where Alicia Keys is.

Side note: Ya'll think she's basically done as a mainstream artist? (meaning she won't make any more hits; she will still make songs but be about as relevant as Faith Evans is right now).

doesn't she have a song all over the radio right now?

C' mon breh lol...you have Beyonce on there in the 90s but not Aaliyah???

its 1990-2013.

and I liked aalyiah before the post-death revisionism, but she was a mediocre talent carried by her writers & producers. she really didn't do anything well but vibe to the tracks. and I bet kelz held her hand thru that intially as well. and I think I know who kelz bit aalyiah's style from. I have a pretty good idea. so nah, putting her on the list would be disrespectful.

that's somewhat the same reason ashanti isn't on the list, and ashanti is like a top 3 favorite of mines. and shoot, ashanti would make the top 10 before aalyiah.

no the hell she isn't.

aalyiah's not even in monica's class.

Album 2 was huhumm... the other was Miss Thang. That's one hot album every 20 year average.

Aaliyah was 2 for 3.

Yes Monica had the better voice but she didn't utilize her talents as well as Aaliyah.

meh. I always felt that nas & jay were better than biggie before he died. and im not even sure that jay &s nas themselves would crack my top 5 NY emcees list.

"one in a million". i love that song, but timbo & missy could've gave that joint to anybody. its like trent dilfer winning a super bowl. that's wassup and all but aint nobody gonna even consider trent dilfer for a top 10 QBs list of his era.

monica still droppin heat. the beginning of the video i posted says it all.

she has the ideal career. shes the only teen singer from the '90s that lasted without having to sell out. she gets play from everybody. from kids to their grandparents.

its not even arguable. like really dog. aalyiah was never in her class.

Okay okay. You are entitled to your own way of processing musical sound. No right or wrong. But for the record I liked Aaliyah before the tragedy. At the time I she was not as popular in R&B as Monica and Brandy. But when I look back on their careers, I think Aaliyah made better music.

you look back and like aalyiah's music better, why tho? because of r.kelly, missy & timbaland?

by that logic, we might as well throw Ciara on the list too. at least she can dance & perform. aalyiah couldnt even do that.

Yes. Probably because of R Kelly and Timbaland (I don't like Missy :wtb:). I see your argument that Aaliyah's songs were better because of her production but they were better! Monica should have used RKelly and Timbaland instead of Dallas Austin, Babyface, David Foster and whoever else did her trash production. Do songs with Malik from Illegal brehs :heh:.

eh. monica made better music too dog. aalyiah aint got no classic album, from what i remember. and i'd rather have malik rapping on my chit than timbaland. cmon son. think about that one.

you don't like missy? she was like one of her main writers. she produced too. and co-produced "one in a million". you sure you don't like missy?
