Interesting topic but what are you basing your rankings off of? How you have janet jackson and bey bey, who I don't even like, out of the top 5 is :whoa:

im taking everything into account.

as far as janet & beyonce not making the top 5:
- Janet's best works predated the '90s. if the '80s were taken into account, she would be higher. plus shes chit vocally, so that doesn't help.

- beyonce doesn't have many classic songs and she has no classic albums. she could easily be lower on the list actually.

Rhythm Nation 1814 which was one of the best R&B albums I've ever heard, dropped in September 1989. Janet just missed it by a few months or else she would have to be higher.

and theres a singer in the top 5 that's not #1 but is considered the goat by many when you add in her '80s run.

I'm really curious about where Alicia Keys is.

Side note: Ya'll think she's basically done as a mainstream artist? (meaning she won't make any more hits; she will still make songs but be about as relevant as Faith Evans is right now).
