Yea, we have to also point out that Wilder is 35 going on 36 later this month. It's more a matter of how long this break will be, how many tune up fights does he need, and his physical shape. Unfortunately he is getting older, but if he can take care of his health, both physical and mental, work on his schools while learning new skills, he can most definitely bounce back. It's on him, though.

Yep, and I think that he has more to lose than to gain by fighting on, but so many fighters are terrible at knowing when to bow out, and Wilder seems to have that fighting spirit coursing through his veins in abundance.

You don't want to be getting into wars in your late 30s, especially in the HW division. As much as I have enjoyed him, I'd like to see him get away whilst he can still enjoy himself, his family, and the lifestyle that being champion will have afforded him. I would be happy not to see him fight again.

is it wild for me to think Andy Ruiz is the only current contender who could actually beat fury?

Yep. Like I said, I'm not telling no one that fights for a living to retire from the sport that puts food on their table and in their kids mouths. But at 36 years old with 45 fights, reigning heavyweight champion, alot of money made, I think I'd be satisfied with knowing 2 of my losses and 1 draw came from 1 man and nobody else. That's just me, though. If he wants to continue to fight, he can, if he wants to retire, he can.

We gotta let go of the race shyt in boxing. Fact of the matter is this is the one sport where race really doesn't matter. If you're good you're good. If fury was black he'd be worshipped by the black community like Floyd was. I'd be with you if this was UFC, where Maga runs wild, but it's not like that in this sport.

I agree with you but boxing is always going to have tribalistic origins. This goes back to even the Jack Johnson days. It's always going to be people rooting for their own people.

I guarantee you - as nikkas on this site speak about their hurt that Wilder lost, cacs are out here celebrating this as W for Yt people as a whole.

It's the nature of the game.

Great story and career from Wilder. Made something outta nothing and got a Bronze Gold Medal starting boxing later than most as well tying Muhammad Ali with 10 consecutive title defenses is commendable . Respect for going out on his Shield. His HW stature is solidified as an all Time KO Artist in Heavyweight History…

Sometimes… there just someone’s that’s got your number.. and it being a 6’9 260+ monster who moves better than most Middleweights , It’s really nothing to hang your hat on
