It is one hell of a trick to have, though. It's probably everyone else's kryptonite in the division, and has won him nearly every fight, and kept him in two of the three against Fury.
Yeah but the vast majority of his opponents have been no names. It's like Earnie Shavers power kept him in the Holmes and Ali fights but you wouldn't put him in their league

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
And Wilder should retire. He’s 36 and not going to improve as a boxer at this juncture, the top guy is younger than him, he took A LOT of punishment tonight. A lot. Also, he’s already rich. Beating Dillion Whyte or some shyt isn’t going to do anything for Wilder. However, he’s not going to.

Brady..LeBron james..Serena...Hopkins

You're dumb as shyt..

according to the RBC research, the average retirement age for MLB players is 29.5, followed by 28.2 for players in the NHL, 28 for NBA players, and 27.6 for NFL players.

Lennox Lewis retired at 37
Joe Calzaghe retired at 35
Andre Ward retired at 33

Some people don't wait til they can't do it anymore.. Hopkins got knocked out of the ring..

One thing must be stated- Wilders corners should've stopped that fight before the 11th. No reason for him to take such a Savage beating. Deontay will never be the same again and neither will his career. Team Wilder did him no favors tonight and didn't do their most important job- protecting the fighter so he can live to fight another day. Tonight, Wilder needed Breland the most.
Going out on your shield is way overrated. All fighters fight to provide for them and their families. What does being beat retarded or to death bring besides bills stress and trauma to your family?
I can understand if it's competitive but when you are being beat from pillar to post then what is the point?

Agree, but in this era it has been enough for him to have won the Heavyweight Title, and to have defended it multiple times, and, save for Fury, it might have been enough for him to retire undefeated. I think that he would catch Joshua over 12 rounds, and maybe Usyk too. In this relatively weak time for HW boxers, his one stand-out skill enabled him to climb to the top of the mountain.

Deontay could get an easy bag by knocking off one of the Paul brothers' heads before he retires. I doubt that he would, but I'd love to see Jake or Logan feel that right hand.

By cherry picking though. He was perfectly fine with not unifying and picking opponents who he felt have him the least threat.
Even with Fury we don't know how he fairs against other top 10 heavyweights.
