The whole story over the last nine months was Kofi and The New Day fighting their asses off to get the title and Kofi proving he could keep it without them.
Losing it in ten seconds is dumb considering how strongly he was booked, so, yes, it would have mattered if he at least ate a couple suplexes before the F5.
We all knew he was gonna lose but the story was in his heart to keep fighting for it.
If this were two years ago when Jinder was champ a squash would have made more sense because Jinder was a chickenshyt heel who couldn't win without the Singh brothers (and Khali that one time).

Ehh. On one hand kofi deserved better but at the same time I ain’t mad at them. I see what they are re doing. I’m a say this, if y’all want pure wrestling and want to see technical wrestling matches and smaller guys get pushed then you now have nxt and aew. SD and raw will always prefer big attractions and viral moments over old school wrestling. Wwe knows they need to expand their audience and catering to the TSC types ain’t doing enough for them.
