I only watched the opening segment and the main event. After reading the comments, I'm just going to say this: SmackDown was what we thought it was. What we thought it was.

We saw it coming to Fox on October 4. Who the hell takes a season premiere on a new network with a new theme song/logo/graphics/set/commentators like it's bullshyt?

SmackDown was what we thought it was. That's why we all tuned in tonight. If you want to crown its ass, crown it, but it was what we thought it was, and we let it off the hook!

I don't see how anyone can defend the booking of the main event, if not only making Kofi look like a chump, every he beat clean by proxy looks stupid.

Nobody can make the roster look as bad in as few steps as Vince can. I haven’t seen him sabotage so many people this fast since the 2015 royal rumble match, and yes I remember how they fed Braun and everyone by proxy to Roman inside the chamber last year.

They treated Kofi like a jobber. There’s no shame in losing to Brock but it was a complete job match. Devalues the champion a bit. Brock vs Cain Velasquez is something that interests me cause I like MMA so if they have proper intense matches could be interesting and the story writes itself. You don’t fully know who’s gonna win, especially if Caun is there long term. Feel a bit sorry for Kofi but at least he got to be champion, the best thing they could do is ha s Big E won the belt from Brock and put a rocket on him but I doubt that happens. Personally think Big E could be a really big star though, he’s believable also. He could beat anybody if he’s protected and wouldn’t be out of the realms of possibility, legit athlete too.

Just caught Shane/Owens, really hope this writes off Shane from actively wrestling, hes just not good at it outside outlandish bumps. That was easily one of the worst ladder matches I've ever seen.

Can they actually cancel it? Seems like this is set up more like a sports deal where they have to honor it until a certain date.

I don't know the actual technicalities of the deal but I'm sure FOX has most of the power in the deal. I'm sure if they wanted to stop doing business w/WWE at any point in the deal they could. Vince got paid once he signed the deal to let FOX broadcast Smackdown.

FOX would probably be able to re-coup that money because of all those NFL Sunday & TNF games they broadcast as well.

That XFL deal ain't got nothing to do with the deal Vince has going on at FOX.

The XFL reboot deal is through ESPN (I believe) and that starts after the Super Bowl is over with.

Kofi didn't get shyt on.

Only reason Kofi even got close to the belt was because Ali got hurt & they put Kofi in his spot. Crowd support convinced them to go with him after that to the point that Kofi won the fukking WWE title at Mania & had a 6 month reign where he might have lost twice the whole time.

Kofi ran & jumped at Brock & got caught with an F5 which outside of Roman & Seth has beat everybody the last few years.

Rollins Balor and Bryan all got very competitive matches from Brock in the past year. Kofi couldn’t?

Brock isn’t as entertaining to me at all, the short match formula became really boring and predictable. Brock in big good matches without move spans could be interesting, the short squash matches either way were played out a long time ago. It only really worked when Goldberg beat Brock on Goldberg's comeback. The formula he’s been using I could gladly never see Brock wrestle again, boring, lazy and uncreative.
