AEW tournaments have never been interesting. It's always obvious what the Finals will be and who will win. They always put dudes in there that have no business being there and are just there to job. This goes back at least to the TNT title tournament where they had Kip Sabian and Colt Cabana in it. The last tournament that was somewhat unpredictable was the original tag title tournament.
Y’all criticism is fair.
So what can or should they do to make y’all happy and also not make people mad or the Stink Bros to shyt on them and say “well they burying Punk, Miro, Black, etc star that all of a sudden someone over likes just cuz they mad another guy went over and want whine about”?
Or at minimum, if they did have a loaded tournament are y’all gonna start it buck back at the haters that’s gonna revel at like say a Miro losing in the First round and tell them to STFU this isn’t a burial?
3rd, y’all do know there is supposed to be an Owen Hart tournament, I do know Punk already on record says he wants to be in THAT tournament. Not everyone can be in both and I see a lot of y’all forgot about that one

If WWE was doing a tournament for the Universal Championship title shot and had a 24/7 guy, Drew Gulak, and one of Jinder's goons instead of Drew Mac, Nakamura, and idk Jeff Hardy people would be
for weeks. AEW has this crazy roster with top tier talent and then fill the tournament for a title shot with only two guys who remotely have a chance and other guys who wrestle more often on Dark than Dynamite. Just skip to Bryan vs Mox as a number one contender match if that's the case. TK is big on not insulting the audience but then fills the tournament with mid carders because he doesn't want to have to put a L on someone's record that will be completely ignored when they get a title shot anyway.

If you want a sports based program, it makes no sense to put complete jobbers in a title tournament while some of the best guys/biggest stars on the roster aren't in it. The title is supposed to be the most important prize, so why wouldn't every single top contender demand to be in the tournament? You even have Miro bytching on Twitter about not being in it (in character I take it), what's Tony Khan's kayfabe explanation for leaving him out?

But there is still a HUGE difference
They guys you mentioned ain’t being booked like far lesser inferior talent like Jinder Goons, Drew Galuk and etc 24/7 guys.
To me this is no different then NJPW doing the G1 but guys like Sho and Yo, Yano (who would be pretty much like equivalent of a 24/7 guy) and Tokyo Pimp in it.
I think we really gotta stop looking how other company’s book their talent 1:1 with how WWE books theirs. It’s like they go out their way to make some guys look like trash
The jobbers in something like Lucha Underground came off stronger and booked better than many in the upper Mid Card of the E
If HALF the G1 roster were dudes that were obviously just there to lose and be easy nights for the bigger talents, that'd be a disaster.

MJF and Stings segment was great
Jericho/Inner Circle vs ATT has been a great feud. It's a pure babyface vs heel feud as far as reactions, which AEW always can use, and it's a way to move Jericho to more of a midcard spot after being at the top with the MJF angle for so long. And it's a way to keep Sammy in a hot angle and this will probably put him over even more.
Speaking of Sammy, as crisp as he is in the ring he still can't talk and is really corny on the mic.

Honestly, throwing 2 more big names into the tournament to make it slightly less predictable and nobody would complain.
Yeah, yeah. Somebody gotta lose, but I would rather have the illusion of "This could go either way" than the journey to the finals being obvious from the start.
