10,000 people died in a natural disaster they knew was coming...and you believe in god?

my aunt posted some shyt on FB about "I love and thank God that I am healthy...blah blah blah..."

i asked her if she attributed her health to God.
she said yes and that she was so thankful.

so i asked her what if you found out tomorrow that you had terminal cancer...or what if you were starving to death in another part of the world?
would you blame God for your misfortune the same way that you praise him for your good health?

she said "God is good and i love God"
completely missed the point of my post.

if you are going to give God credit for EVERYTHING...then why not ask why God allows terrible things happen and why not criticize God for it the same way you thank God for good things?

BTW, i'm not an atheist.
i do believe that there is some higher power but i can't begin to understand what it is...i just acknowledge and stand in awe of it.

What bugs me about natural disasters like this is people always sending their prayers to the affected area... :rudy:
fukk your prayers, you don't think we were praying for this shyt to skip over us? :dahell:

I was watching the coverage of Filipinos in Woodside reacting to the typhoon ... there was one guy who was a pastor who was saying that God will see them through and we have to have faith in him ...

I just thought the whole thing seemed incongruous ...

I agree with your logic, but you have to allow people to believe in what they believe in. Who knows how you Aunt would be living if she didn't believe in God? The problem with cats like @Napoleon is NOT that their arguments don't make sense, dude is actually more intelligent than the average coli poster. But his incessant need to always try to shyt on people's beliefs make HIM seem insecure. I actually agree with a lot of his arguments, but at some point you just gotta be content with your own beliefs and let others be content with theirs :ld:

if people who actually believed and read their bible they would understand that following God you are more likely to run into dire situations etc., because the devil is in constant attack mode in spiritual warfare against you. He already his demonic forces he doesn't have to fight to keep them.
