No. Africans been wearing weaves since back in Africa. Your real issue should be with conks and perms. Learn your history.

Black men shouldn't be policing black women's hair. It's a black women's issue that most of yall lack knowledge of.
I know my history. And long, straight hair is a recent phenomenon.

Marley twist didn't come from cacs :heh:

It's an actual style of hair named after Bob Marley if im not mistaken. Marley twists/ Marley hair is an old term.

Does one drop mean that you aren't white or you are black?:ohhh::lupe: If the former then not white doesn't necessarily mean black and mixed people have no one to blame but themselves. No one stopped them from creating their own communities.:troll::youngsabo:

I'd take it one step further and say that white people think that the culture of people of color is everyone's culture.

I was in Bushwick yesterday on my laptop and grabbing a bite to eat at this cafe and I see this white chick with an indian bindi on her forehead...why? I don't know.
I've been seeing white women wearing saari's and hiijabs...why? I don't know.
There's now a new trend of taking japanese and chinese text and characters and putting it on t-shirts and random clothing cause it looks cool. Even though when translated in english it doesn't make a lick of sense at all.
Musically, whites been jacking black music for ages and even newer music that comes from the black community (juke, jersey club, vogue house/ballroom) and spanish communities (reggaeton/moombahton) seems to not be able to gain any traction unless it's co-opted by white people.

And ofcourse...:banderas:

No, you wear your hair that way because you've been programmed to hate yourself. But as I look around, many young sisters are starting to do the right thing and love their short, curly hair.

Breh...:whoa: Kindly step away from the thread...

I don't delve too far into the arguments of what is truly Black, mixed, etc. but from what I've seen on this site, it's not so much people arguing that Blacks created the rule, but more so that there are far too many Black people who knowingly/unknowingly subscribe to the rule through their beliefs/actions. It's the same way folks on here complain about stereotypes and misperceptions but still do/say things that uphold them.

How does one do this?

Would one be considered a one droppist for saying someone like Will Smith or LL Cool J are black?

Are we talking about "claiming" multi-generational mixed African Americans who posses euopean blood from slave rape or are we talking about "claiming" new school, millennial black parent/non-black parent people?
