He tried to have his cake and eat it too. On one hand he was able to pull the round robin tournament so many have asked of AEW since it's inception and it was a major success. On the other hand, he tried to shoehorn irrelevant titles (yes, including the ROH belt) to make it seem like a "bigger tournament" and use the momentum of the tournament to give more interest on said belt. The latter was bound to fail.

The fact he made all this effort to have his "CC" (Champions Carnival) and his "Triple Crown", only for them having to drop using the word Triple Crown is hilarious tbh

They haven't dropped using the phrase Triple Crown. They literally said it on Dynamite this week.
