I actually thought White/Naito was MOTN. Told a way better story than Ibushi/Okada.

No, it "had" a better story than Ibushi/Okada but told it terribly. That match was awful. 35 minutes and not for a second was there reason to believe Naito wasn't winning.

On paper you can say Naito had to overcome interference, heel and tactics, and a ton of work on his surgically repaired knee. But in reality it was a meandering match where the knee mattered and then didn't depending entirely on what spot of the match they were in. I'm not even a stickler for selling and shyt like that but if you're going longer than an episode of Martin there's gotta be some meaning and purpose behind what you're doing otherwise you're just killing time.

Also, White's cheesing for the camera and shyt is fine and all, but when it's what is ultimately your climactic "nearfall" maybe you shouldn't be laughing and throwing up your set while you have what's supposed to be a match winning submission on. He's playing the role well now but at the end of big matches you should probably make it seem like you believe you're about to win so the audience does to.

It felt like a really good tv match stretched two or three times it's length.

Honestly, it was pretty bad.

Okada/Ibushi was fantastic. That's storytelling. A match that ebbed and flowed, felt like it was half as long as it was, gave both wrestlers a great showing, and was genuinely climactic down to the end.
